Using Direct Debit to pay off your monthly bill is available for both Android and iOS (this tutorial shows iOS but it is exactly the same for Android).
What should I know about paying with Direct Debit?
If you have Direct Debit setup we will be locking your bill on the last day of each month.
Therefore from the 1st of every month until the due date you will not be able to plan any purchases or replan other instalments plans.
So please make sure that you adjust your monthly bill amount to a value that you are able to pay before the end of the month. You can do this by going into the individual purchases and updating the payment plan to a longer term.
We have more detail about this here: How do I plan a purchase or my change payment plan?
Where do I setup Direct Debit?
To set-up Direct Debit open your app and head to the Home screen.
Look for the Wallet icon near the top-right, select and you'll see this:
Choose 'Set up Direct Debit' and then follow the on-screen prompts to finish setting-up your mandate.
What happens now?
On the 1st of the month you will receive an email informing you of the amount Tymit will be charging you for that bill and the date in which it will be taken.
The payment will then be taken on the due date of each bill at which point you should see the amount immediately credited in your Tymit account.
Note: This does not mean that the payment has been taken successfully but that we are expecting it to go through. Changes may occur up to 3 days after the due date and you will be informed if any problems occur.
Why can't I see the set-up Direct Debit option?
You won't see the option to set-up if you have a missed payment.
If you have a missed payment please pay your pending bills by Bank Transfer and then you will be able to set-up Direct Debit for all your future payments.
Also, If your bill or outstanding bill amount is below £1 on the 1st of the billing month, your Direct Debit will not be processed on the following 7th. Please ensure that you make a manual payment to cover your bill.
